With MyWorkDrive all data remains stored on-premise or in the customers own data center. Egnyte data must be synced to the cloud before it can be edited. Only MyWorkDrive has the ability to e dit documents in native Office 365 online and Office Mobile Apps stored on Local File Shares. By implementing MyWorkDrive Web Browser File Manager customers can reduce the cost of supporting traditional VPN and Sync/Share clients by 50% or more. MyWorkDrive leverages the existing Windows infrastructure companies already have and can be implemented with no changes to existing workflows, servers, or clients quickly and efficiently. Files will need to be migrated to Egnyte and users will need to be retrained at company expense. MyWorkDrive pricing starts at $4/user/month with no migration costs. Files remains in standard NTFS format instead of proprietary cloud storage. No additional administration or database backup software licenses or management is needed when integrating MyWorkDrive. Unlike Egnyte, MyWorkDrive uses existing active directory users, group and NTFS permissions to provision users. With MyWorkDrive, enterprises can simply and easily provide secure remote file access to their users in minutes without migrating data or compromising security. MyWorkDrive is built from the ground up to integrate exclusively with Windows Active Directory and NTFS File Shares with no changes to work processes or traditional mapped drives clients. Overall, though we love this software.Unlike Egnyte, MyWorkDrive integrates seamlessly and natively into an existing Windows File Share infrastructure. The app is great for uploading photos and similar to the site, but I've never been able to use the app to invite a user - everything looks like it's working, but the "save" screen doen't pop up the way it does on the computer, and so it doesn't save the invitation and thus doesn't work. It can usually be resolved with a few clicks, but I've never figured out what happens to prompt the shutdown. Sometimes the backup function locks up without reason. There are lots more features that we don't even use. There's even an app for android and iPhone. They can actually provide a HIPAA certificate! The price is very reasonable for everything that's included, and the amount of control you have over your data and settings. Egnyte has HIPAA compliant security and lots of good security settings, like invitation links that expire and cannot be forwarded. Backup is usually seamless and they email if the computer hasn't been heard from in some number of days that you determine. Finally, there have been a few instances where the platform has experienced downtime, which can be frustrating.Ĭomments: Secure backup of all our documents, easy to set up FTP sites, that have HIPAA compliant security.Įasy to set up and share FTP sites. Thirdly, the customer support could be more responsive - it can take a while to get a response when you have an issue that needs addressing. Secondly, the search function could be improved - I have found it to be somewhat unreliable at times. Firstly, the pricing can be a bit steep for smaller businesses like mine, especially if you need to store a large amount of data. However, there are a few drawbacks to using Egnyte that I have encountered. I synced all my devices to it to make my workflow smoother. The integration with other business tools, such as Google Drive and Microsoft Office, has also been very helpful. The platform is easy to navigate, and I appreciate the ability to store and access my files from anywhere with an internet connection. I have been using Egnyte for my small business for the past 6 months and have found it to be a reliable and user-friendly cloud storage solution. Comments: Overall, I would recommend Egnyte to other small business owners as a reliable and user-friendly cloud storage solution, despite the drawbacks mentioned above.
